Vintage Star Tobacco enameled sign. This is a one-sided sign with bright blue and yellow colors with the company logo in gold and white. In 1849, Liggett and Myers started producing Star Tobacco under their company name Liggett and Meyers Tobacco Company. By 1890 Liggett and Meyer became the largest tobacco company in the world. The company was eventually sold to Phillip Morris in 1999. Liggett and Meyer became well known for the L&M brand cigarettes, launched in 1953. This sign is flat with eight mounting holes on the edges. There is some chipped enamel but does not detract from the brightly colored sign. Sign measures 24” x 12”.
