This sterling silver bon bon spoon by Gorham features a gold-washed reticulated bowl with a central bird motif and a handle decorated with a grotesque mask and floral scrolls. The reverse neck bears an impressed lion, anchor, and gothic G, along with STERLING, 853, and a crescent moon date symbol for 1891. The back of the handle is monogrammed. This spoon measures 6.75 inches and weighs 2.535 ounces. The piece is in very good antique condition with no visible damage to the pierced bowl (photo 3). Natural tarnish is present in the handle recesses as expected (photo 2). The vermeil wash is largely intact with light surface wear (photo 4).
