Manufactured by Emil Busch A.-G. in Rathenow, Germany, this vintage 8x "Ultralux" center-focus binocular features upper prism cover plate stampings displaying the sunburst logo with "ULTRALUX 8X" on the left cover and "BUSCH Nº 123026" on the rightcover. Serial number "123026" is also stamped on the rear lower bridge arm. The binoculars measure 4.5 inches high by 6 inches wide (11.4 cm H x 15.2 cm W) and weigh 546 grams (1 lb 3.3 oz). Constructed with metal frame elements, a central focusing wheel, and textured body coverings, the unit maintains smooth central hinge pivot action, a smooth central focus wheel, and smooth right diopter focus adjustment. Optical glass condition is clear across both channels, providing clear overall viewing performance with no defects. All metal finishes and pebble-textured body wraps remain in unrestored factory condition, exhibiting very light cosmetic surface wear consistent with age and careful use.
