WWII–Korean War U.S. Navy Enlisted Blue Flat Hat

WWII–Korean War era U.S. Navy enlisted blue wool flat hat, commonly referred to as the "Donald Duck" sailor cap. This regulation cap was issued to enlisted sailors during World War II and remained in service through the Korean War period, prior to its phase-out in the early 1960s. The cap is constructed with a dark blue wool crown, a distinctive black tally ribbon with gold "U.S. NAVY" lettering, and a ribbon tie at the rear. Inside, the hat has a tan leather sweatband, black interior lining, and a brown reinforced crown panel. The size is labeled 6 1/2. There is no visible manufacturer, contract, or dated issue marking present. The condition shows light surface dust, minor wear, age-related wear to the ribbon and sweatband, and some interior discoloration while maintaining good form and clear lettering.
