Produced during World War II by Voigtländer & Sohn in Braunschweig, Germany, under manufacturer ordnance code "ddx.", this Gw ZF 4 (Gewehr Zielfernrohr 4-fach) telescopic sniper scope features body stampings reading "Gw ZF 4", serial number "32771",code "ddx.", and cold-weather lubricant indicator triangle symbol "D". The optic measures 6 inches long (15.2 cm) with an optical main body tube diameter of 1 1/8 inches (2.9 cm) and weighs 635 grams (1 lb 6.4 oz) with the mount attached. Constructed with a blued steel housing, windage/elevation turrets, and a quick-release side rail mount marked "fest" on the locking lever, the scope maintains smooth mechanical function across its adjustment controls. Optical glass condition is clear, offering clear viewing performance with the target reticle visible. All blued metal finishes remain unrestored, displaying age-appropriate surface rubbing, minor oxidation, and edge wear.
