Produced during World War II by Voigtländer & Sohn in Braunschweig, Germany, under manufacturer ordnance code "ddx.", this Gw ZF 4 (Gewehr Zielfernrohr 4-fach) telescopic sniper scope displays body stampings reading "Gw ZF 4", serial number "36848",code "ddx.", and cold-weather lubricant indicator triangle symbol "D". The scope measures 6 inches long (15.2 cm) with an optical main body diameter of 1 1/8 inches (2.9 cm). Constructed with a blued steel housing, windage/elevation turrets, and a quick-release side rail mount marked "fest" on the locking lever and Waffenamt "WaA214" stamped on the base frame, the scope includes protective leather lens caps connected by a leather strap. Optical glass condition is clear, providing clean overall viewing performance with the target reticle visible. All metal blued finishes are factory original, exhibiting age-appropriate wear, surface rubbing, and patina.
