This cast iron portrait plaque, produced during the 1914–1918 era, features a high-relief depiction of General Field Marshal Paul von Hindenburg in full military uniform. The surface is finely detailed, with the subject’s features rendered against a textured stippled background. The bottom margin is inscribed in traditional Fraktur script with Hindenburg's rank and name. Measuring 15.6 inches by 11.6 inches, the item retains its original integrated hanging ring for wall mounting. The blackened finish remains well-preserved, exhibiting a light, natural patina consistent with early 20th-century German commemorative ironwork. The casting displays no chips or cracks, maintaining crisp detail throughout.
