This oil on board painting after Tom Thomson (Canadian, 1877–1917), The West Wind depicts a wind-swept tree on a rocky shoreline. The piece bears the signature Tom Thompson in reddish-orange paint at the lower right. A printed label on the reverse from a fine artdealer identifies the subject as The West Wind on a panel. The work is executed in a heavy impasto style in a decorative frame. 8 x 10 inches. The painting is in excellent condition with a stable paint layer and intact impasto.
