Tray This large Southwestern Apache style hand woven tray features a close-coiled construction using willow and devil's claw. The interior design centers on a small cross motif from which four stylized pictorial human figures radiate toward the rim.The materials have aged to a warm golden-honey patina. This shallow bowl serves as a significant example of early twentieth-century Native American basketry. 30 inches wide by 9 inches tall. The basket remains structurally sound and holds its shape well. Minor wear is present along the rim, including a few small areas of missing or broken stitches. The willow exhibits a consistent aged patina with light surface soiling.
