6 Piece Pablo Picasso Lithographic plates from the illustrated volume "Toreros" by Jaime Sabartes, published in 1961 by George Braziller, New York in collaboration with Andre Sauret, Monte Carlo, and printed in France. This celebrated publication pairs Sabarte's text with Picasso's powerful visual interpretations of the bullfight, one of his most enduring and personal themes. The works presented here exemplify Picasso's late-period graphic style, where gesture, movement, and raw emotion are distilled into expressive brushwork and dramatic tonal contrasts. (1) richly colored lithographic composition with layered textures and vivid accents, evoking the chaos and spectacle of the arena, (4) monochrome and sepia-toned lithographs depicting matadors, bulls, and mounted figures in fluid, spontaneous forms, and (1) title and publication pages confirming the 1961 edition and its association with Sabartes and the Mourlot printing tradition. Each image bears Picasso's signature in crayon and in the plate and incorporates dated elements (1959) within the compositions, referencing the period of original creation.
