Published circa 1938 by Cigaretten-Bilderdienst, this original hardcover collectible cigarette card album is titled Österreich: Deutschlands Ostmark (Austria: Germany's Ostmark). Bound in cream paper-covered boards with a red cloth-backed spine anda red and white lattice pattern featuring a central title medallion, the volume highlights regional travel, culture, and alpine landscapes following the 1938 annexation (Anschluss). The interior contains German text in Fraktur alongside complete tipped-in black-and-white photogravure cards ("Lodix-Sigella-Bildfolge"), illustrated maps of the region, and advertising vignettes for Sidol cleaning products. Notably, this example includes a scarce multi-page fold-out color travel brochure laid in, titled Salzburg: Die Mozartstadt Deutschland, featuring an illustrated panorama of the city and a detailed 1941 alpine travel map by Heinrich C. Berann. The inner front board features an Ex Libris bookplate and ink signature for "Reginald T. Badger." The album measures 11.25 x 8.25 inches. Condition is consistent with age and light handling. The covers show minor edge rubbing, light corner wear, and subtle surface smudging. The interior pages are clean and firmly bound, with all cards present anda faint age-appropriate toning near the margins. The laid-in Salzburg brochure displays minor creasing along the original fold lines.
