1917 WWI Documentary Book "Der Krieg" Vol 2

Published by Deutsches Verlagshaus Bong & Co. in Berlin, Leipzig, Vienna, and Stuttgart, this original World War I folio volume is titled Der Krieg 1914/19 in Wort und Bild: Zweiter Band, copyright 1917. Bound in blue cloth with embossed gilt Frakturlettering and a inset soldier portrait plate by M. Frost, the large illustrated volume provides contemporary accounts of military campaigns, naval operations, and trench warfare. The interior features text in German Fraktur script accompanied by full-page color plates, monochrome illustrations, field sketches, and photographic reproductions from artists such as Ernst Zimmer and M. Frost. The volume measures 12.5 x 9 inches. Condition is consistent with age and regular handling. The original cloth binding displays moderate rubbing, prominent edge wear, and prominent surface water staining along the right margin of the front cover. Some interior pages are loose from the binding but most remain securely bound with clean text and crisp artwork plates, showing expected light margin toning and minor corner wear.
