This pair of World War II era M1938 pattern gaiters features olive-drab wool construction bound by green cotton trim along the edges. Designed to fit tightly over service boots, each gaiter fastens securely along the outer leg using eight brown shank buttons paired with reinforced stitched buttonholes, anchored by a bottom fabric instep strap with a metal buckle. Faded military markings appear on the interior lining. The wool shows light wear consistent with field use, including minor fraying around the button openings and a period hand-stitched repair along the back seam.
