An original post-WWII US Army occupation-era booklet titled "Winter in Bavaria", published by the Tours Office - Special Services Section, HQ Third US Army, and printed in Munich by F. Bruckmann. Measuring 8.5" x 7.0", this booklet was produced for American soldiers stationed in occupied Germany between 1945 and 1950. The cover features a snowman with ski poles beside the Third US Army "A" insignia. Inside, photo spreads showcase Army-run winter sports in Garmisch-Partenkirchen, Berchtesgaden, and the Zugspitze, including skiing, ice skating, and bobsledding. It opens with a quote from General Douglas MacArthur on athletic competition. Condition is very good, with minor edge rubbing, light corner curling, and faint paper toning.
