This military leather battery pouch is constructed from heavy brown hard-shell leather with stitched side seams. Measuring 3.5 inches high by 5.5 inches wide, the pouch served as a field maintenance tool pouch for the US Army Browning Automatic Rifle (BAR). The reverse features a retrofitted off-color leather loop secured with four heavy rivets, added later for belt attachment. Underneath the front flap, the leather bears the stamped code B.D.R. / 4-42. The pouch remains structurally firm, showing surface scuffing, edge wear, fine leather cracking, and bright green verdigris buildup around the brass closure stud hardware.
