This original Imperial German reservist porcelain pipe bowl (Reservistenpfeifenkopf) dates to 1900. Measuring 6.5 inches high with a 1.5-inch rim diameter, the white porcelain bowl features hand-painted and applied polychrome enamel decoration. One side depicts a gunner (Kanonier) named "Wilh. Hohner" beside a large artillery piece, while the reverse shows a shoemaker's emblem (Schuhmacher) above a scene of two men clinking beer steins in a tavern. The bowl is bordered by raised, relief-molded oak leaf and acorn garlands, featuring a painted German national-colors bow (Schwarz-Weiß-Rot) near the heel socket. The top is fitted with a hinged nickel-plated metal lid shaped like a Pickelhaube helmet, complete with a raised Imperial eagle coat of arms (Reichsadler). The porcelain shows hand-painted inscriptions including "Den Deutschen Reschoff..." and the date "1900". Condition is good with light tarnishing to the metal lid, slight rubbing to the enamel, and minor chips to the delicate raised porcelain leafwork.
