A collection of four original mid-1940s U.S. Army informational and recreation booklets issued by Special Services Headquarters, Third U.S. Army, for personnel stationed in occupied Bavaria. The largest booklet measures 10.0" x 7.0". Included are twocopies of "A Guide to Regensburg (Ratisbon) and Nearby Points of Interest in Bavaria", two folding travel guides titled "See Your SSO / Here It Is: The Third Army's Tour For You (Munich and The Bavarian Highlands No. 2)", and a photo-illustrated brochure titled "Bavarian Winter Wonderland! Garmisch" featuring a printed message from Commanding General Lt. Gen. L. K. Truscott, Jr. The booklets contain regional maps, historical guides, and resort facility listings. Condition shows handling wear, spine creasing, and minor page toning.
