This set features a pair of WWII 10x50 Dienstglas binoculars made by Ernst Leitz Wetzlar under the "beh" maker code, serial number 470891. Produced with a heavy brass frame, these binoculars were used for specialized observation roles requiring enhanced magnification. The set measures 18.4 cm H x 20.3 cm W (7.25" H x 8.0" W), and weighs 986 g (2 lbs 2.8 oz). The body shows authentic signs of combat use, including sections of missing textured covering and extensive field patina. A hand-engraved inventory marking "C 182" is present on the center hinge cap, indicating a field-issued identifier. The right diopter turns smoothly, but the left diopter and central hinge exhibit stiffness due to aged original lubricants. Optics provide clear 10x magnification with minor internal black spots visible in both barrels. Included is the original black leather hard case, complete with shoulder strap, handle, and intact hardware and measures 20.3 cm H x 21.6 cm W (8.0" H x 8.5" W). The case shows minimal wear and remains fully functional, preserving the period character. PM/OT
