ca. 1885; Salt glazed cylindrical stoneware crock, slipped cobalt paddletail bird on a branch design, impressed " N. A. White & Son / Utica, NY / 5 " (Nicholas A. White). Flattened tooled rim, applied pair of crescent lugs, impressed shoulder ring, Albany slip glaze interior; 12 1/4" high, 12 3/4" diam; Condition: 1/2" shallow rim chip, 4 3/4" and 3/4" rim lines, exfoliation area at end of bird's tail, and spots of discoloration.
