This group consists of approximately 60 early 20th-century phonograph cylinder records, predominantly in the Edison Blue Amberol format. These cylinders are composed of blue celluloid over a plaster of Paris core. The collection representspopular music, dance orchestra, and novelty genres from the 1910s and early 1920s. Titles visible on the embossed beveled edges include Yellow Dog Blues, See You in C-U-B-A, The Kiss Waltz, Shines on the Moonshine, and Wyoming. Artists andensembles identified include Steve Porter and Company, Della Robbia Orchestra, Tuxedo Dance Orchestra, F. Hillebrand, Burkhart, Metropolitan Quartet, and the Edison Mixed Quartet. There is a high frequency of duplicate copies for catalognumber 4087, There's a Typical Tipperary Over Here. One cylinder in the group features a different construction, appearing to be a wax-based record with a paper label wrap. The cylinders are being sold loose without their originalMedia: Good to Very Good. The blue celluloid surfaces exhibit common surface dust and light grime but appear structurally sound. The wax-based cylinder shows significant surface wear and aging.
