20 Phono Cylinder Records Edison and Columbia

This collection consists of 20 antique phonograph cylinder records from the late 19th to early 20th century. The group features major labels including the Columbia Phonograph Company and Edison Record, alongside a specialized instructionalset from the International College of Languages. The cylinders are a mix of organic wax and blue celluloid formats. Recorded content includes popular music, classical pieces, and language lessons. Transcribed titles include Sylvie, Jigsand Reels, Meditation from Thais performed by Albert Spalding on violin, The Girl You Can't Forget, Believe Me If All Those Endearing Young Charms, When The Old Folks Were Young, Way Back, Aunt Phoebe's Welcome, and I've Got The Time, Etc.performed by Van Brunt. Musical ensembles represented include Sousa's Band and the N.Y. Military Band. The instructional portion includes a partial run of Dr. Rosenthal's French method with lessons 1, 4, 7, 9, 11, 13, 14, and 22. PackagingThe media is in varying condition. Many of the wax cylinders exhibit surface dust and fungal bloom in the form of small white spots. The blue celluloid cylinders are in generally cleaner condition. No major cracks or shaved surfaces.
