Wonderful example of a difficult to find clock featuring a complete maker's label on the inside. Mahogany veneer case with scrolled Chippendale-style pediment, delicate bracket feet, cyma-curved apron, turned pillars, reverse-painted tableaux of public buildings. 32-hour wooden works. Painted wooden dial with floral decoration and embellishments around the hands. Label marked "Movement made by Ephraim Downes of Bristol for the patentee". Ca.1830-1835. 1"H x 17 1/4"W x 4 1/2"D Very good with some aging to veneer and loss to tableaux. With key.
