Two beautiful pieces of Pennsylvania woodenware. Slide-lid candle box marked on back "Box made and decorated by the Kauffmans Zoe and Henry", and Prussian blue base with floral decoration on lid. Kauffmans were well-known local collectors of early iron and tools who donated their collection to Historic Rock Ford Plantation. Together with a 19th-century pantry box in an early blue paint and exuberantly painted floral decoration on the lid and painted embellishments on the side. Very good age to the paint. Slide lid box, 2"H x 3 1/2"W x 13"L Very good.
