Wonderful handmade and hand-painted Hopi pottery duck vessel by Bertha Kinale of Polacca, Arizona. The underside is marked “Bertha Kinale, Polacca Ariz.”, identifying the artist and origin of this distinctive Native American pottery piece. Sculpted in the form of a duck, the vessel features an elongated yellow beak, rounded open body, raised head and tail, and detailed hand-painted decoration in terra-cotta, black, red, and yellow. Geometric and stylized designs wrap around the body, giving the piece strong visual appeal from every angle. Measures approximately 7" long x 4.5" wide x 5" tall. Vintage preowned condition with expected age-related surface and paint wear. There is a visible hairline/crack along the beak, along with scattered small marks and imperfections consistent with age and handmade pottery. Please review all photos carefully for condition. An excellent collectible for enthusiasts of Bertha Kinale pottery, Polacca pottery, Hopi pottery, Hopi Pueblo art, Native American pottery, Indigenous ceramics, Arizona pottery, Southwestern pottery, Pueblo pottery, Native American folk art, duck pottery, bird effigy pottery, animal-form vessels, hand-painted pottery, vintage Southwest art, Western décor, and Native American collectibles.
