German HS Revolver .22LR

Updated August 24, 2026

This German HS double-action/single-action revolver is chambered in .22 LR and represents a compact imported rimfire handgun from the mid-to-late 20th-century European commercial market. Serial number 234001, this example features an approximately 2.5" barrel with a shiny bore and is in fair overall condition. The revolver utilizes a compact metal frame with an exposed hammer, swing-out cylinder, and traditional grip panels. Plenty of handling and finish wear is present throughout, giving the firearm a distinctly used appearance. More importantly, the revolver currently needs work to operate properly and should be professionally inspected and repaired before use. German-made economical revolvers of this type were widely imported into the United States during the postwar era and remain interesting representatives of the affordable handgun market of the period. With its shiny bore, small-frame proportions, and honest wear, this example offers an intriguing restoration or parts project. Please see photos. German HS Revolver .22LR DA/SA 2.5 Shiny 234001 Fair
