Marlin Model 783 .22 WMR

Updated August 24, 2026

This Marlin Model 783 bolt-action rifle is chambered in .22 WMR and represents a classic American rimfire sporting rifle with plenty of vintage character. Serial number 25646249, this example features an approximately 22" barrel with a shiny bore and is in fair overall condition. The rifle utilizes traditional wood furniture with a conventional sporting grip profile paired with a steel receiver and bolt-action assembly. A gold-colored trigger provides a subtle visual accent and adds to the rifle’s classic appearance. The stock is broken and will require repair or replacement before the rifle can be considered properly configured for normal use. Marlin produced a wide range of popular rimfire rifles over the decades, and the Model 783 offered the added performance of the .22 Winchester Magnum Rimfire cartridge in a straightforward bolt-action package. With its gold trigger, shiny bore, .22 WMR chambering, and vintage Marlin name, this example could make an appealing restoration project. Please see photos.
