Two tier square side table with shaped corners and cabriole legs, in the mid 20th century Louis XV revival taste. The top is a mahogany toned ribbon stripe veneer over a solid molded shaped edge, the apron is carved on all sides with a continuous ribbon and rosette guilloche band, and the legs have carved acanthus knees and scrolled whorl feet joined by a shaped lower shelf. One point of accuracy on the gold edge. It is not inlaid brass and not hand painted. It is a fine twisted rope gilt transfer band lying on the finish with no incised channel and no metal thickness, inset about an inch and a half from the edge. No maker mark, as the underside was not photographed. Condition is fair with white paint spatter across the top, the gilt rope rubbed away in several stretches, and a dull hazy finish. A glass protective top appears in some photos. Sold as-is. Photos are the most accurate description of this lot. Written descriptions are a guide only and may contain errors.
