A 1958 Canadian silver dollar issued to mark the centenary of the colony of British Columbia. The obverse features the laureate portrait of Queen Elizabeth II with the legend ELIZABETH II DEI GRATIA REGINA. The reverse displays the Totem Pole design, with inscriptions CANADA, BRITISH COLUMBIA, 1858 1958, and DOLLAR. The designer's initials ST for Stephen Trenka are incised at the base of the totem. The coin is struck in .800 fine silver and features a reeded edge. A maker mark possibly attributed to Viner's of Sheffield (recheck) is associated with this silver item.
