A silver 50 cent coin issued for Newfoundland, dated 1894. The obverse features the Young Head portrait of Queen Victoria facing left, surrounded by the Latin legend VICTORIA DEI GRATIA REGINA with NEWFOUNDLAND at the base. The reverse displays the denomination CENT and the date 1894 within a beaded inner circle, enclosed by a border of stylised pitcher plants. Quantity: 1. The 1894 date is highly sought after due to its low mintage. Condition: The coin exhibits heavy circulation wear with significant loss of detail to the monarch's portrait and central inscriptions. Numerous surface scratches, contact marks, and small nicks are present on both faces. The metal has a dull silver-grey appearance with dark patination and signs of past cleaning.
