French Model 1874 Gras rifle bayonet dated 1877 and manufactured at the St. Etienne arsenal. Features the distinctive long T-back steel blade, hooked quillon, wood grip panels, and brass pommel. Accompanied by its original steel scabbard. Bayonet and scabbard retain matching serial numbers, a desirable feature for a surviving military set. Arsenal and inspection markings are present throughout. Good antique condition with expected age-related wear, oxidation, patina, and surface marks. Overall length 25 1/2"; blade 20 1/2".
