WWI German S84/98 III military bayonet featuring a fullered steel blade, wooden grip scales, steel crossguard with muzzle ring, and hooked steel pommel with push-button locking mechanism. Blade is stamped C.W.G., with additional serial/issue number 626 R on the crossguard. Accompanied by its steel scabbard and brown leather frog, with additional C.W.G. and inspection markings visible on the frog hardware. A fine example of a German military bayonet associated with the Mauser 98 rifle system. Good overall vintage condition with expected surface wear, scratches, patina and oxidation to the metal, wear to the wooden grips, and age-related wear to the leather frog. Overall length 14 3/4"; blade 9 3/4".
