Finely carved Chinese hediao (carved walnut) sculpture depicting a densely detailed village landscape with pavilions, bridges, figures, trees, and architectural elements. The intricate openwork carving wraps around the entire nut, revealing numerous miniature scenes and figures in traditional attire. A remarkable example of Chinese folk carving and miniature art, displaying the extraordinary craftsmanship associated with carved walnuts and nuts used as scholar's objects and collectibles. 2" x 1 1/2" x 1 1/2".
