Antique Chinese belt buckle comprising two interlocking sections mounted with polished celadon jade plaques in finely engraved gilt bronze mounts. The larger oval jade plaque displays a pale celadon-green color with cloudy white inclusions and soft translucency, while the smaller matching plaque exhibits a deeper gray-green celadon tone. The gilt bronze mounts are decorated with finely engraved scrolling foliate motifs and retain the original belt attachment bars and hook mechanism on the reverse. Jade belt buckles of this type were prized accessories of the Qing Dynasty, combining the symbolic prestige of jade with finely executed metalwork. An attractive example featuring substantial jade cabochons, rich gilt surface, and intricate engraved decoration. Largest section: 3 1/2" x 2" x 3/4". Smaller section: 2 3/4" x 2" x 3/4".
