George Luks (American, 1867-1933) A vibrant market scene with multiple figures, some wearing hats, rendered in broad, expressive strokes. Rich hues of blue, green, purple, and brown dominate the composition, with touches of red and orange in the figures' garments and flowers. Signed 'Geo Luks' in the lower right. Presented in a dark, carved wooden frame with a cream-colored mat. George Luks was an American artist associated with the Ashcan School, known for his energetic depictions of working-class life and urban scenes.
