Childe Hassam (American, 1859-1935) This oil on canvas depicts a woman in a patterned dress, contemplatively gazing out a window framed by vibrant red curtains. A table in the foreground holds two blue teapots and a bowl with green sprouts, while a purple vase brimming with red and orange flowers rests nearby. Signed "Childe Hassam" lower right. Framed. Childe Hassam was an influential American Impressionist painter known for his vibrant cityscapes, coastal scenes, and garden paintings. After studying at the Academie Julian in Paris in the late 1880s, he returned to the United States, becoming a prominent figure in American art circles, especially in New York.
