Birger Sandzen (Swedish, 1871-1954) An oil on canvas rendered with bold, expressive brushwork, depicting a vibrant river landscape. Golden yellow trees with hints of green foliage stand prominently on rocky banks, reflecting in the serene blue and green waters below. The background features dark blue mountains and a light blue sky with white clouds. Signed "Birger Sandzen" in red paint in the lower right corner. Framed. Birger Sandzen was a Swedish painter known for his expressive landscapes. He spent the majority of his career as an art professor at Bethany College in Lindsborg, Kansas, where he developed his distinctive style.
