Shipibo-Konibo Kene Vessel Master Amazonian Ceramic Jar. This exceptional Shipibo-Konibo Kene Vessel is a completely original hand-crafted ceramic work by renowned Peruvian master artisan Leidy Martinez Panduro. Elegant in profile and visually commanding, the piece features a beautifully balanced rounded body with a gently constricted neck and wide mouth, creating a form that is both sculptural and deeply rooted in the ceramic traditions of the Peruvian Amazon. The vessel is richly decorated with intricate kene designs, the ancestral geometric visual language of the Shipibo-Konibo people. The upper register presents finely painted cream, black, and terracotta motifs arranged in rhythmic interlocking patterns, while the broad lower body is animated by a striking red-orange ground accented with bold black geometric forms and delicate linear details. This contrast gives the work extraordinary visual energy while preserving overall harmony and balance. Within Shipibo-Konibo culture, kene is associated with identity, spirituality, ancestral knowledge, and the ordering of the natural and visionary worlds. Each line is drawn by hand, making every ceramic work unique. In this piece, the precision of the painted ornament and the strength of the form reveal both technical mastery and a highly developed aesthetic sensibility. The generous scale, luminous surface, and strong color contrasts make this vessel especially suitable as a centerpiece for a refined interior, private collection, gallery presentation, restaurant, or boutique hotel setting. At once decorative and culturally significant, it stands as an outstanding example of contemporary Indigenous Amazonian art. Works by the artist have previously been presented through auctions organized by the Museo de Arte de Lima (MALI). ARTIST Leidy Martinez Panduro (San Rafael, Masisea, Ucayali, Peru, b. 1983) is a recognized Shipibo-Konibo master ceramic artist from the distinguished Panduro family of Amazonian artisans.
