The Distressed Poet (La Detresse du Poete). Engraving after the celebrated composition by William Hogarth depicting a dramatic domestic interior surrounding an ailing poet. The composition features members of a family gathered around the central figure, accompanied by a dog and various symbolic details characteristic of Hogarth's narrative style. Presented under glass in an ornate giltwood frame. Framed.
