Joe Shuster (Canadian-American, 1914-1992). An ink and gouache drawing on paper featuring the iconic superhero Superman soaring above a city skyline. The composition utilizes bold primary colors of blue, red, and yellow against a pale background, rendered with the dynamic, heavy linework characteristic of early Golden Age comic art. Signed "JOE SHUSTER" in the lower right. Framed. Joe Shuster was a pioneering comic book artist best known as the co-creator of Superman alongside writer Jerry Siegel. His work in the late 1930s defined the visual language of the superhero genre, establishing the muscular physique and iconic costume that became a global cultural phenomenon.
