Jack Vettriano (Scottish, b. 1951). An oil on canvas depicting a couple in formal attire-a black tuxedo and an ivory gown-dancing within a misty, luminous environment of pale yellows and soft greens. The atmospheric composition features silhouetted figures in the background and a faint, hazy moon, evocative of a cinematic noir narrative. Signed "VETTRIANO" in the lower left. Framed. Jack Vettriano is a self-taught Scottish painter celebrated for his film noir-inspired narratives and romantic, atmospheric scenes. Emerging to major acclaim in the 1990s, his work-including the iconic The Singing Butler-often explores themes of nostalgia, elegance, and human interaction. His distinctively smooth technique and focus on stylistic poise have made him one of the most commercially successful contemporary British artists. Dimensions: Unframed: 23 3/4 x 22 7/8 inches Framed: 27 1/2 x 26 5/8 inches Provenance: Private collection.
