Neal Doty (American, 1941-2016). A vibrant mixed-media drawing on paper in a neo-cubist style, depicting a stylized figure with a pink and black profile holding a stringed instrument. The composition utilizes a bold palette of canary yellow, crimson, and teal, set against a backdrop of stylized blue and white clouds. Signed "Neal Doty" in the lower left. Framed. Neal Doty was a California-born artist whose work often synthesized elements of Cubism and Surrealism into a modern, graphic aesthetic. A graduate of the Art Center College of Design and California State University, Doty's career was marked by significant recognition in the 1970s, including high-profile commissions for Paramount Studios.
