Antique German bisque socket head doll produced by Kammer & Reinhardt in collaboration with Simon & Halbig. The back of the head is incised with the K and R star logo, the manufacturer name SIMON & HALBIG, and the size mark 58. The head is crafted from fine bisque porcelain with brown glass sleep eyes, feathered eyebrows, painted lashes, and an open mouth revealing four inset porcelain upper teeth. The doll features a dark brown curly wig accented by a burgundy satin ribbon and is mounted on a traditional ball-jointed composition and wood body. Dressed in a vintage red and white gingham check dress with lace trim, the doll includes a full set of undergarments consisting of a white cotton chemise, pantaloons, a pinafore, knit socks, and white leatherette shoes. 20 inches. The bisque head remains in good condition with no visible cracks or restoration. The composition body shows expected surface crazing and finish peeling consistent with age. A small vertical split is noted on the upper left arm. The doll displays typical wear for its period and remains well-preserved overall.
