Two German Bisque Head Dolls, Lissy & Mold 148

This lot features two antique German dolls consisting of a Lissy shoulder-head and a mold 148 socket-head. The Lissy doll features a bisque shoulder-head on a gusseted kid leather body, marked Germany 275 2/0 on the head and Lissy 2 on the shoulder plate. She is finished with blue glass sleep eyes, painted lashes, and long brown hair. Her attire includes a cream checkered cotton dress with lace trim, a matching bonnet, a full set of white cotton lace-trimmed undergarments, knit socks, and leather boots. The second doll is a bisque socket head on a gusseted kid leather body, incised 8 over 148. She features brown glass sleep eyes and a light brown curly mohair wig. This doll is outfitted in a pink and green pleated silk-style dress with a matching lace-trimmed jacket, a green velvet hat with an ostrich plume, knit stockings, and leather shoes. Height: 22 inches. These dolls show typical age-related wear to the kid leather bodies. The Lissy doll features an old tape repair to the upper left arm and requires further restoration. The mold 148 doll has replaced lower legs and minor chipping to the left hand finger.
