Antique Bisque Head Doll with J Mark & Kid Body

Antique bisque socket head doll mounted to a bisque shoulder plate and a cream colored gusseted kid leather body. The head features a singular incised J on the reverse of the neck and additional illegible country of origin markings on the lower shoulder rim. The face is detailed with brown glass sleep eyes operated by an internal rocker mechanism, painted eyelashes, feathered eyebrows, and an open mouth with four inset upper teeth. The doll features a dark brown curly wig accented with a red ribbon. Included is a red, white, and blue plaid cotton dress with blue piping, a white cotton chemise, matching drawers, black knit socks, and two tone leather shoes. A handwritten dealer tag is attached to the leg. 21inches. This doll displays expected wear and light soiling consistent with age and use. The bisque head is in good order with minor surface residue at the hairline. The leather body shows typical darkening and precise old seam repairs at the joints.
