Five Nippon All-Bisque & Bisque Head Jointed Dolls

A collection of five antique all-bisque and bisque-headed dolls of Japanese manufacture for the export market. The group features a doll with a bisque head and limbs dressed in a cream crochet long-sleeved dress with a ruffled collar over a lace-trimmed cotton chemise. A smiling character doll is included with a molded blue headband and painted composition body, featuring an incised A 2 NIPPON mark on the neck and a hand-incised signature reading ANNE TUREE 74 on the reverse of the torso. The assortment also contains an all-bisque jointed doll with molded pink and white undergarments, a doll with a brown mohair wig marked Nippon on the upper back, and a smaller all-bisque doll with molded blonde hair. All dolls feature painted fixed blue eyes and jointed construction at the shoulders and hips. Various heights. These dolls have mostly expected wear due to their age and wear. One doll exhibits a detached limb and areas of surface staining to the bisque.
