An antique German doll featuring a bisque head manufactured by Simon & Halbig for the Kämmer & Reinhardt firm. The doll is built upon a ball-jointed composition and wood body and features a blonde mohair wig. The facial mold includes blue glass sleep eyes with painted upper and lower lashes, feathered eyebrows, and an open mouth revealing four inset upper teeth. The ears are pierced and decorated with beaded earrings. The reverse of the head is incised with the Simon &Halbig name and the Kämmer & Reinhardt six-pointed star mark, alongside the size number 62. The doll is presented in a high-quality multi-piece ensemble including a blue and gray plaid dress with cream lace appliques and a large ribbon bow at the waist, a matching floral-trimmed plaid bonnet, a cream cotton chemise, lace-trimmed bloomers, black knit stockings, and black leather-like shoes. Height: 24 inches. This doll presents in good antique condition overall. The bisque head is free of chips, cracks, or hairlines, and the glass eyes retain their functional sleep mechanism. The composition body shows expected surface wear and characteristic chipping at the joints and fingertips, consistent with its age and history. The clothing and undergarments remain well-preserved with only light age-related toning.
