Antique Oval Occasional Table w/ Inlaid Floral Top

Updated August 22, 2026

Antique Oval Occasional Table with Inlaid Floral Top — AS IS / Restoration Project Decorative antique oval occasional table with an ornate carved base and inlaid wood top. The oval top features a floral and foliate inlay surrounding a book-matched wood center, bordered by a raised molded edge and a deeply carved repeating leaf motif along the apron. The elaborate base is particularly attractive, with four slender fluted supports accented by carved foliate details and joined at the bottom by a platform stretcher. Graceful outward-sweeping feet and additional carved ornamentation give the table an elegant Continental/Neoclassical appearance. Condition is important on this piece. The table shows considerable age-related wear, including finish loss, scratches, staining and wear to the top. Several of the legs/supports have been repaired or reinforced at some point in the table's history, with evidence of old repairs visible from underneath. The table presently seems sturdy, but due to the slender leg design and previous repairs, we would not recommend it for supporting heavy objects. This could be an especially appealing DIY/restoration project. The ornate base could be repaired and refinished or painted, while the decorative inlaid top offers considerable character worth preserving. Sold strictly AS IS, with previous repairs and condition issues as photographed. Please examine all photographs carefully before bidding. Despite its condition, this is a striking decorative table with wonderful form and considerable potential for restoration or creative repurposing. 28.5"H, 20" x 29"
