Vtg Italian Gilt Metal Wheat Sheaf Coffee Table

Updated August 22, 2026

Vintage Italian Gilt Metal Wheat Sheaf Coffee Table with Glass Top Striking vintage Italian-style gilt metal coffee table featuring an elaborate wheat-sheaf inspired base and a large oval glass top. The sculptural base is composed of three gracefully arranged bundles of wheat, with sweeping curved supports, individually formed leaves and wheat heads, and decorative twisted-rope bindings. The flowing scrollwork creates an especially dramatic silhouette when viewed through the clear glass top. Finished in a warm antiqued gold tone, this table has the glamorous decorative quality associated with mid-century Italian Hollywood Regency furnishings, particularly the popular wheat-sheaf and botanical designs of the 1960s–1970s. The elongated oval glass top allows the ornate metalwork beneath to remain the focal point. Dimensions: Approximately 54" L x 22" W x 16" H. Condition: Vintage condition with expected age-related wear to the gilt finish, including scattered oxidation, spotting, discoloration and surface wear. Some of the slender decorative metal leaves/stems appear slightly bent or irregular, consistent with age and use. Glass shows typical surface wear from use; no major damage is apparent in the photographs. Please review all photographs carefully as they form an important part of the condition description. A wonderfully decorative statement coffee table with unmistakable Italian Hollywood Regency style, equally suited to a glamorous traditional, eclectic, or maximalist interior.
