Set of Six (6) Vintage Würzburger Hofbräu German Stoneware Beer Steins These vintage 0.5-liter stoneware beer mugs were made for Würzburger Hofbräu of Würzburg, Germany. Each substantial gray stoneware mug features the brewery’s name in cobalt-blue Gothic lettering beneath its traditional crowned brewer’s-star emblem. Founded in 1643, Würzburger Hofbräu is one of Germany’s historic breweries. The crown in its emblem honors the brewery’s founder, Prince-Bishop Johann Philipp von Schönborn. Each mug bears an impressed “0,5 l” capacity mark, indicating a half-liter serving size. These handleless-lid brewery mugs—traditionally known as Bierkrüge or Seidel—were intended for practical tavern and beer-hall use. Their heavy construction, understated coloring and matching brewery graphics give the group considerable decorative appeal. Condition: Vintage condition with expected variations in color, texture and finish from manufacture and use. Scattered surface marks, discoloration and minor wear are present. One mug appears to have a small rim nick or glaze loss. Please examine all photographs carefully for the most accurate representation of condition.
