Offered is a 1938-D Walking Liberty Half Dollar in Extremely Fine (XF) condition, struck at the Denver Mint. This is a desirable low-mintage issue and one of the scarcer dates in the Walking Liberty Half Dollar series. Please review the photos for the exact condition, surfaces, and remaining detail. The Walking Liberty Half Dollar was designed by renowned sculptor Adolph A. Weinman and was struck from 1916 through 1947. The obverse features Liberty walking toward the rising sun, while the reverse depicts an eagle perched on a rock with its wings raised. The 1938-D had a remarkably low mintage of only 491,600 coins, making it the third-lowest-mintage issue of the entire Walking Liberty Half Dollar series, behind the 1921 and 1921-D. The coin is composed of 90% silver and 10% copper, weighs 12.5 grams, and contains approximately 0.3617 troy ounces of pure silver.
